Hey Laurell I hear there isn't going to be an Anita Blake show after all. If there was going to be one the French actor, Fu'ad Aït Aattou would be the perfect Jean-Claude. I saw him in the film, The Last Mistress, and all I could think about was Jean-Claude (well after fanning myself cause he is....whew!) here is a link to his picture:

"I have some big news! I'm not at liberty to give you all the juicy details just yet but I'm excited to announce that I have joined forces with a first class Writer, Producer and film studio. Yes, the rumors are true - a movie and a possible TV show based on the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter 16-book series is in the works. Stay tuned to my website for updates and details."

Please, please dont' let norah jones play anita she would be terrible she is tooo goodie goodie. I have been thinking about it since I heard about the show. I think Kelly Monaco from General Hospital would be great she is beautiful, & tough & has the right look

Just looking at Laurell's website and came across some very exciting news...
# Anita #17 now has a title: Skin Trade. Tentatively scheduled for release June 2009. # I have some big news! Okay I've been really excited after I heard that they were making a series or a movie out of Anita Blake. I love the Idea I am a little scared that they might let some hack director like (*cough,Catherine Hardwicke, cough, cough*)did to Twilight.
Anyhow I got excited thinking about who they'd have to play Anita, JC, Richard, Jason, Micha, Asher and Nathanial. Jc and Anita will probably be the hardest to cast hope they make it good. I thought that Kellan Lutz would be a good Jason besause he for one is just damn sexy and he reminds me of Jason. Also I was watching that evanescence video "call me when your sober" and that guy that is in that video Oliver Goodwill is pretty hot he might make a good richard or micha. This book series was introduced to me by my friend. I was telling her about this one series by Keri Arthur that I have and she went and brought me Guilty Pleasures out. I took it home and read it and ended up falling in love with it too. Well I am rambling I just wonder what some others think about these actors or even the movie or tv series they are making. |

PLEASE, someone tell me it gets better! I've read all the AB books in order and have begun to struggle. I loved the first 10 or so, but noticed a steady decline in quaIity once LKH started to pile on the metaphysical stuff without explanation. I think it started w/ Narcissus, but can't really recall (they blend - that's not good). Now it's all 1 big mess w/ the ardeur, Belle Morte, Moroven, the Mother of Darkness, and now the Dragon? All within 100 pages?? It's way too much! Is it worth it to continue the series? I could really just go for a plain old-fashioned Anita Blake butt-kicking book, with just a dose of love interest. Seriously, I keep zoning out when I read. Any tips? Or is this the wrong site for me...

I totally think that NCIS' Zeva or Cote de Pablo should totally cast as Anita Blake-her Cuban descent and features, not to mention kick-ass sexy suprisingly I can handle this hope I can handle this win your own brownie points attitude would be perfect for a movie or tv show for the Anita Blake Vampire series. All I can say is I hope that Laurell picks the right people for the leading roles. One wrong actor will be as bad as a silver bullet in werewolf's heart.

Hello im sort of new here
wouldnt you think it would be perfect if Laurell K. Hamilton found perfect people for every character in her books and did a tv series with nothing left out from the books because if she made movies with it they always cut out the little stuff and thats some good stuff right? so i think a tv series of every bit of anita blake books there is would suffice |

While we're all a bit..anxious of how well this movie or show would come out. its not like their trying to turn Narcissus in Chains into a movie. it would probably cover either A) the first book, B) the first 2-3 Books, or C) the first 5 books. If they do a show even then they probably wont get to The Killing Dance and that's where the first sex in the entire series happens between Jean-Claude and Anita obviously !. So honestly we just have to worry about Violence and Gore probably.
So then we come to cast. Honestly i think prosthetics and Make up are amazing tools. So if we have someone whom looks EXACTLY liek Jean-Claude but cant act their way out of a paper bag. the movie/Show will SUCK. So i think if we work on finding good actors that look NICE compared to the characters. we'll do VERY VERY Good =3

a movie i think would tarnish the whole idea of what we think and how we see all the characters of the entire blake coalition imean who would be right playing jean-claud even asher? are there thet many male caracters out there who would play the role of male on male sex? this real world that we live in today is some what loosening up on being homofobes but not alot. I my self love all the books and what L.K.H. has created within to bring us all in on her ride I love the entire book series I especialy love the less dominate and lovely nathaniel and only in my dreams is he perfect. but in a movie who will tarnis this fantacy?
