Anita Blake World - All Things Anita
Have you ever wondered: What if vampires, werewolves, zombies and all those other creatures of our imagination, myth and legend were real and living in today's world?

How would we deal with them? How would the existence of the undead affect our inheritance laws? Would lycanthropy be a crime or an unfortunate medical condition? Could a person make a decent living raising the dead?

LKH has taken this premise and these questions and ran with it and developed a rich world where the preternatural is real.

The Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series takes place in a unique world set in an alternate universe where things that go bump in the night aren't farie tales, in fact, those tales are based in truth. It is a world where humans live alongside and with vampires, werewolves, zombies and witches, demons and dragons are part of the everyday world.

Krimson Oklahoma was settled back in the 1800's during the land run. They called it Krimson because here in Oklahoma, the dirt is red. That's the nice version of the story anyway...

The real story now.... The town was called Krimson because of the bloodshed in the settlement. The land was literally painted with blood. Before these lands were settled, the Native Americans lived here, and believe it or not, they lived in harmony with the lycans. Native Americans called the lycans Shapeshifters, which they looked at as some sort of metaphysical God.. It was an honor to be a shapeshifter.

With the joined community of the Natives, as well as the lycans, soon came the vampires. The metaphysical power, always seem to call to each other. The vampires formed an alliance with the lycans, taking their blood instead of killing the Natives and turning them.

When the settlers came, they killed most of the Indians and took their land. This forced the lycans to strike back, but there were far too many settlers for them to win. They were forced into hiding their identities, submitting to their human habits of life, making their beasts a second nature. This became a wave over the whole continent, lycans unable to roam free, masking their true selfs because of the settlement of the land by humans

In the year 1996, an Act passed through Congress, Legalizing and recognizing Vampires as citizens in the United States. The Council of Vampires made rules, guidelines for the vampiric persuasion to follow... One of those rules were that each territory shall have a Master of the City. Rhyan became the Master of the City of Krimson. He soon died at the hand of his Temoin, second in command, Xi Lian and she stepped up as the MOC. Rhyan was too weak to rule, and he had put the Kiss in the hands of the humans, doing their biddings, as if they were their little lap dogs.

Welcome to Krimson...
