This page contains information on the different types of inherited lycanthropy.

This means that you are born with the ability to shift to an animal form. Typically, your shifting is NOT tied to the full moon and thus can be put off in order to carry a child to term.

It is thought that many of these forms began as variants on the European 'family guardians'.

Family Guardians

Family guardians can manifest as a dog, beast, or giant cat. They are mostly European. One person a generation has the genes and changes when the family needs it such as war, or some kind of physical danger.

Swans

Facts

• At no time does canon refer to them as wereswans.
• There are one to six swanmanes in every major city in the United States. (DM)
• 'Swanmane' refers to both men and women who are not swan royalty. (DM)
• There is one swan king born per generation, and there should also be a swan queen born to be his mate, but apparently there was no swan queen born of Donovan's generation. (DM)
• The swanmanes of St. Louis were often left to Gabriel's tender mercies; they grew fond of BSDM as a result, and would go to Narcissus in Chains to indulge. (NiC)

• A separate group from the werecobras, Chimera's weresnakes came from the Amazon Basin.
• They worshipped Orlando King because he could take so many forms.
• Anita killed all butHalf threetheir thattribe came to the States with King,King. Anita and company killed all but three and the rest were slain during or after the battle at Narcissus in Chains.
• They appear human-shaped, but have scaly skins and hands that end in claws. They have stripes on their scales, and some, like Coronus, have a base color of olive green. Their eyes are metallic coppery gold.
• Their movements are somewhat birdlikebirdlike.
• They do not go to pure human shape when they die.
