Character Factoids

  • Anita notes that he doesn't move with the grace associated with lycanthropes, perhaps because swans are not particularly graceful on land.
  • He was a prince and a hunter, and so wicked that a witch cursed him with shapeshifting into a swan, thinking that it would teach him to be kind and gentle. He did not learn this; the centuries as a swan left him with a heart as cold and a pride as impervious as he had when human. He would much rather have been some kind of predator.
  • He associated with bent lawmen, such as Sheriff Titus and Deputy Aikensen, to provide lycanthrope hunts to the wealthy and unscrupulous.
  • He does not believe that silver will kill him, though it will cause him great pain.
  • Raina considers him a 'beautiful pain in the ass'.
  • Raina and Gabriel used him to determine the reactions of the humans that they intended to use in their films to a shifter transformation.
  • He lived in a pale gray stone house with white trim at the end of the road on a mountain. The interior is also white with white furnishings. He had the same kind of couch Anita has.
  • Edward killed him, and Marcus paid him to do it, according to the note included with the skin. Edward sent the cured swan skin to Anita, who framed it and hung it over the couch. Richard finds the skin disturbing.
