Character Factoids

  • He could cause earthquakes, though he agreed not to do this during his duel with Jean-Claude.
  • He could draw blood at a distance.
  • His voice induces calm and trust; he need not touch or even gaze to play mind games.
  • He can levitate himself and others; he lifts Jean-Claude without touching him.
  • He can walk in daylight, which helped fool Anita about him being a vampire at first, but avoids crossing direct sunlight.
  • Even though he is a vampire, he agrees with HAV and Humans First that vampires are too dangerous to be legal; he tries to interfere with the legal status by taking over Jean-Claude's kiss and making the vampires run amok, thinking this will remind humans of the danger and get the legislation about citizenship reversed. (CotD) The Vampire Council could not interfere with his plans because the Council cannot fight to the death amongst themselves and nothing short of death would have dissuaded him. (BO)
  • He could feel Jean-Claude's marks on Anita, though he could not identify nor locate him that way.
  • Mr. Oliver felt the pull of Anita's necromancy.
  • Snakes were his animal to call; the giant cobra's rampage may have been his instigation. Melanie, a lamia or immortal snake shifter, answered to him but was not completely under his control. She tried to create breeding partners under his nose, something he didn't notice until Anita brought it to his attention. Melanie was rather contemptuous of him, thinking he was growing sentimental and weak.
  • He tore Richard's throat out but did not kill him.
  • He wished for Anita to stake Jean-Claude, but she staked Mr. Oliver instead, at the very last moment, before ripping his head off. (CotD) The Vampire Council would very much like to know the true circumstances of his death. (BO) Jean-Claude refused to take the Earthmover's council seat, though it was his by right of combat, believing that he was not strong enough to hold it. (BO)
