A YAABI is a colloquial term for 'Yet Another Anita Blake Inconsistency'. These are places in the books where LKH appears to contradict or change what she has previously stated about a situation or character.

Guilty Pleasures, ch. ??, (pg. 87 paperback); (pg. ?? e-version); (pg. ?? hardback) Anita says that she has a 16 year old stepbrother. We later learn that Josh is her half-brother, born after her father wed Judith.
Guilty Pleasures, ch.??, (pg. ?? paperback); (pg. ?? e-version); (pg. ?? hardback) Anita states her age as 24 and her half brother's age as 16... which means he was born two years before his parents were reported to have met/married when Anita was 10. (Anita's mother died in a car crash when she was 8. (BB))
Bloody Bones ch19 pg 177 (Australian version) Anita states that she has met Jason three times and that: "Two out of three times, he's tried to eat me." At this stage, she has met Jason twice, both times in "The Lunatic Cafe" - pages 101 and 345.
Blue Moon, ch.??, (pg. ?? paperback); (pg. ?? e-version); (pg. ?? hardback) Damian indicates that he is of Belle Morte's bloodline, yet in Incubus Dreams, we learn that he is from a totally different vampire line.

When Asher is introduced in Burnt Offerings, Jean-Claude and Asher tell Anita that they were made by the same vampire. However, when Asher is re-introduced in Cerulean Sins, he tells Anita that he was made by Belle Morte herself and that Jean-Claude was made by Lissette, a child of Belle.








Danse Macabre, ch.??, (pg. ?? paperback); (pg. ?? e-version); (pg. 139 hardback) When Valentina was introduced in Cerulean Sins, she was described as "A little girl of seven or eight" Then in her one scene in Danse Macabre, she suddenly gets downgraded to "she may have looked five" (page 139, HC).submitted by Roguefemme
The Harlequin, throughout Numerous timeline inconsistencies in reference to past events - notable ones, events in OB occurred more than 18 months ago...(??) the pregnancy issue was 'months ago' yet DM was just at most a few weeks past....
The Harlequin, ch. ?? (pg ?? paperback); (pg. 270 e-version); (pg. ??? hardback) Willie's girlfriend's name is suddenly Candy, where before this, his angel-fang's name was Hannah. ( to be corrected in the paperback version to read Hannah)
The Harlequin, ch. ?? (pg. ?? paperback)(pg. ?? e-version)(pg. ?? hardback) While Anita is in the hospital Dolph enters her room to question her about her attack; but he begins to ask her many personal questions one of which was whather she was Jean-Claude's human servant. However, when Anita was in the hospital during the last chapter of Micah a doctor in another state and timezone says that he knew Anita was Jean-Claude's human servant from watching the news. It seems rather unlikely that a dedicated detective like Dolph would miss information that is common knowledge to just about everyone in the country. submitted by Fallinangel

(pg. ?? paperback); (pg. 274 e-version); (pg. 238 hardback) Sylvie Barker, suddenly states that she doesn't 'do' women, when in previous books it has been specifically stated that she is gay and has a female partner. (to be corrected in the paperback version, to read that she either 'does women' or 'doesn't do men')
The Harlequin, ch. 32, (pg. ?? paperback); (pg. 317e-version); (pg. 278 hardback) Soledad states when she is trying to kill Anita that Anita is Jean-Claude's 'vampire servant'. What? Since when??
The quote:
"I'm not killing you as Jean-Claude's vampire servant. I'm killing you and your mistress as a federal marshal and a legal vampire executioner."
The Harlequin, ch. 37, (pg. ?? paperback); (pg. 374 e-version); (pg. 328 hardback) Joseph's wife's name changes from Amber (in NiC, pg 490) to Julia.
The Harlequin, ch. 44, (pg. ?? paperback); (pg. ?? e-version); (pg. 389 hardback) Anita states that the Mr. Oliver, a.k.a. the Earthmover, tried to make her his human servant; in actuality it was his accomplice, Alejandro.
