May 18 2008, 5:16 AM EDT Ironic...My first book was Circus of the Damned too. My husband actually owned that one when I met him, I read it in one sitting, and got the other books, I went back and read them in order from first to last (until Blood Noir, which I can't WAIT it's so close!!) I've just fell in love with the series. Do you find this valuable? |

May 24 2008, 11:53 AM EDT Wow, I was just wondering what Blake I should start with. A friend recommended AB to me a week or two ago, but as she lives about 2000 miles away I can't just pop over and borrow one. Should I start right at the beginning with Guilty Pleasures? Do you find this valuable? |

May 25 2008, 9:07 PM EDT MY first Blake book was the "club vampire" set. I bought it thinking it would be the same old vampire stuff and was surprised and was hooked. I keep on reading them, i love the style and the people in the anita-verse Do you find this valuable? |

May 27 2008, 6:23 AM EDT I would def recommend starting at the beginning with Guilty Pleasures as you meet the characters in order and get to know Anitas first thoughts on them, and this is also the first time we see Jean Claude the sexiest vampire ever!!! All the books are great but I would read them in order first and then you can always go back and re read your favs Do you find this valuable? |

Jun 11 2008, 3:59 AM EDT God you sound like a nerd for even having your own wetpaint and a film critic, surely thats not alot different from people reviewing what they like and dislike about there fav books, just like you do with films. I suggest if you havent read the LKH books you do not make comment on something you know nothing about! Do you find this valuable? |

More kids need to pick up a book today instead of mindlessly sitting in a movie theater. You call me a nerd, how about you come and do my job. Join the Army, be Infantry like me and deploy to iraq for 15 months at a time. i bet you will have more respect for book reading nerds like me. Do you find this valuable? |

Jun 11 2008, 6:34 PM EDT "My first blake was actually issue 4 of the comics then after i got all of those i stated to read the books first with obsidian butterfly after that i tryed to get them in order from the first one"Wow... See, i havent even gotten into the comics... only cause I really dont want to screw up what i already visualize the characters. Thier FINE. I had already went online and done some sneek peaks at it. So in my minds eye? I had already changed the body and a few of the mens hair. lol. sad i know. But i always find myself going back to what I myself visialized them as. Now my first Anita Blake book? I'm happy to say that i had started from the very first one. It had captured my soul back in 2002. Heck, i think i was the only student reading an exciting, heart throbing, jump in your throat, as your legs squeeze tight with anticipation of passion and sex kinda book at 17 years old. So I guess, now that i look back... i understand why my English teacher couldnt really get the fact that i was in the top 5 readers in the school and why i got so excited when i wrote or presented a bood report. lol Shame... Jun 26 2008, 7:00 PM EDT Well I started with "The Laughing Corpse" I didn't realize it was the second book until after i finished it. I started reading the books two or three years ago when i was 14, yea i know im 16 =/ But I can't stand the young adult books. I mean really..."Gossip Girl"???? Why would i want to read that? I have been in love with reading since...well since I learned. Do you find this valuable? |

Jun 26 2008, 7:41 PM EDT I read most of Guilty Pleasures in comic form, and then switched over to the novel. I'm working my way through them now and I'm up to Circus of the Damned. She sets up a fascinating world. Do you find this valuable? |

RE: My First Blake
Saturday, 8:25 AM EDT My first book was "Guilty Pleasures". A girl in my Japanese class had them when I joined the University. She lent me the first five books in german (I'm living in Germany) and I read them. We became friends and read the next two books also in german. After that there weren't any other books of LKH in Germany published, so we started reading them in english together up till now. Do you find this valuable? |
