"I agree with you, but there is a problem, some people don't have HBO and Showtime. Maybe if they posted it on the internet too then it would work."
The internet always has everything if ya look hard enough and I agree with Anjelita about A cable network it is too HOT for regular cable and movies tend to rush and skip plot lines. I am all for it being a cable series ( and no I do not have HBO or showtime)but apparently some sort of live action Anita is going to happen according to LKH site.

Rumor has it, Showtime wants to pick up the Anita series. They need to have some competition for HBO's "True Blood", which is based on Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse vampire series. I'm also a fan of Charlaine's and watch the series. So far, they've been able to hold pretty dang close to the books. Charlaine consults on all of the production with Alan Ball. So far, so good. If they can make Anita like that, then I think we'll have a winner. For those who don't subscribe to the HBO/Showtime channels, I'm sure if there is a series, it would go to DVD, so those people would just have to wait a little bit longer. Personally, my biggest worry would be casting. I mean, for heaven's sake... All the men in the series are so dang beautiful....! (I wouldn't mind being a fly on the wall for THAT casting call!) They are really going to have to find some fine lookin' men for the movie and/or series! 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

OMG! Yeah I have this website that I watch True Blood on and they put most of the tv seires that are running on that site.
They have been really close to the book and it is making me laugh. Sooo
But I have the same problem too. They better do well on Jean-Claude or I'll hit someone and Micah and Nathanial and Jason and maybe not so much Richard but......

OMG! Could you imagine who ever the actor who plays Nathaniel would have to go through each day just for the hair alone???!!! Richard still has to be good lookin' - he's just more "handsome" as opposed to "beautiful" like the rest of the men in her life.. I think the only one who is ordinary looking would be Edward...

It does say on her site that she cant give juicy details but yes there will be a movie and maybe a TV show. That she has hooked up with a star screen writer and director I think it is. Someone feel free to correct me.

Any news on what is going on with Anita? Last I looked on her blog LKH said that she might make Anita give up her badge or have them take it away from her..........;( (tear)

I absolutely adore the books and the comics the charters themselves already have taken on a excited persona and what with everyone having a different Idea of who would best suite this charter I think it is going to be pretty damn impossible. don't get me wrong I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to see this program air but as excited as I am I will be Just as disappointed if it fails. not only will I be disappointed in the inner workings of the TV business themselves but I feel that It could possibly alter my opinion of the charters. so... in conclusion Im excited but if it don't work out I think I may never speak to my tv set again 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Since these are fantasy characters, it seems impossible to imagine any regular guys/actors who could ever live up to LKH description of JC, Asher, Richard, etc. I was very disappointed by selection of Tom Cruise in Interview with Vampire. TV series actors (unknowns) might grow on you, but again, the reality can never match the fantasy LKH has captured of gorgeous sexual, powerful men who fight over, and share, and worship one woman. A movie might kick-off the audience attraction to a cable series (Buffy, etc.), but wooden acting from higher profile actors would simply backfire. Plus, what if LKH becomes so involved in the film side she seizes up and cannot continue writing the series on a regular (but so slow) basis? Horrors. Guess I vote for series with some incredible casting decisions. That way we can see a little of the sexual side of the novels, but the story lines can be explored. LKH should pick up a writing partner from her author group to pick-up the pace on the novel releases. Oh, and please eliminate same boring graphic sexual details in future novels---"please"--and get on with the story. Do you find this valuable?

Totally and completely agree - there can be no big movie stars in this if they do it (which I'm not woo hoo about)... Let's be honest, it will never live up to the awesomeness that is an LKH Blake book... Could they make it ok, probably.. but it wouldn't be awesome... And let's look at this folks - Anita didn't have any "arduer" issues til 5 or 6 books in... I'd put money if they did a movie, it would be the most sense to do book one (and don't do an Anne Rice and try to squeeze two books in one movie) Hell Richard isn't even in book one..

Now the series is a different story, it could pick up where the movie leaves off and to stay true to the books - we're talking SEASONS of material on a Premium cable channel (HBO, MAX, etc)... say about 8 - 10 episodes, equaling a season per book... There are characters mentioned that don't show or are very small roles until later in the series... it would be for more gore content on cable for the sex - hell Anita doesn't sleep with anyone until Killng Dance so the ardeur is a book or two beyond that....

I could ramble on... I'm just sooooo on the fence, n' scared about this idea
