I want to say, YES, DO IT! But i'm a tad bit scared... Interview with the vampire was great... (i seen the movie before i had read the book) its just when i did read the book, it had missed a few things... then there was Queen of the Damned. I mean... those books are great, and the movies were great... its just... Anita Blake... More action, more plots, more everything... So, i dont think they should do a movie... more like a series... maybe a TV series like Dark Angel... or a Anime like Vampire Hunter... I just dont want LKH "movies" to be like Underworld... I liked it but at the same time, disappointed.

Well I think that if LKH actualy interveiwed the characters to make sure that they were what she wanted and consulted her fans maybe and not turn it into the fourth Harry Potter movie where it was just plain crap cutting everything out.....I mean I love the comics and the pictures if the do... it better not be crap.

So many movies that are based on the books get botched up. They just butcher them, plain and simple. Take for instance the film Queen of the Damned (as Ldylove pointed out), in a nutshell, they took the characters, a dash of their personality. and wrote something different. For those of you who read the book and saw the movie, you know what happened just wasn't the way it...happened. Were they to make an Anita Blake movie, big IF going on there, then what if they took Anita, her looks, and her guns and made her something less than what she is in the books? Say they were to emphasize the sex over the mystery/crime. And before my words just then get twisted into something I didn't say, I don't have a problem with the ardeur, as some people do, I don't think Anita has become a slut (because she hasn't), and whatever else those narrow-minded readers say. Anyways. Would an Anita Blake movie be just freaking amazing? Heckkkkk yesss!! But do I think if it wasn't done PROPERLY (which is what would probably end up happening), then it would be really terrible. So. That's my little ramble...phew, now I'm done. 10 out of 10 found this valuable. Do you? |

I agree full heartedly with you. All of my friends that I talk to about her think that she is a slut. But really it is not her problem. I mean if she never fed the ardeur then she, Jean-Claude, Richard, Jason, Damion, Nathanial, Crispin, and Alex may die and who know else. That is the main ... well one of the main reasons that the books are so exciting, because one little slip up may cause the who St. Louis area to colaspes into a million tiny peices. Okay maybe not that dramatically but it could happen

See thats the thing... Before I got saved... I was VERY intouch with my sexuality. Look at Anita... She wasnt like what she is now... It wasnt by choice is what I mean. Me? It was by choice. I wasnt a slut, and i didnt sleep with every tom, dick and harry... But I expolored my sexual thirst. YES i had/have bounderies I will not cross... YES some of those I felt that it was time TO cross... and YES, Some of those things I will never ever cross again. I believe that Anita is at that point. She's not into S&M... but she shouldnt be selfish neither... She's gotta bend alittle. (I for one, know that a little hard play isnt as bad as people thinks it is) A lot of people thought a lot of things of me... being a slut... (from what i've HEARD) wasnt one of them. If anything some people envyed me, (like anitas ffriend) and a lot of the guys (some girls) came to me for advice... WHY? cause what their scared of doing, trying, exploring or have no idea how to go about it... guess who has to put them at ease? Yeah... me. I for one do sympathise Anita only because she didnt choose to be the way she is now... But I want to "scream" at her and tell her to let go! Drop those shields and life would be so much smoother for her, and not so complicated with her men.

THANK YOU. OMG THANK YOU. Okay, I see the whole problem that she has with Richard because I have ALMOST the same problem. I mean if someone was my fiancée and I slept with Jean-Claude I would understand that he would be angry, but just because Anita doesnt love Richard like she does Micah or Nathanial dosent mean he has to throw a big hissy fit. I mean he literally threatened to MARRY her if it was his child in Danse Macabre. But she still loves him, in his and her own way.

They couldn't film more than one book at a time, and it would probably be one of the early ones... what one would you want to see filmed, if you had to choose?

Cerulean Sins, it's when Jean-Claude and Anita FINALLY accept Asher into their bed, and it's just so freaking awesome.Asher's just amazing, I'd want him to be more than just some background character in a film. He needs his time in the spotlight! =] Asher aside, I just really liked that book. But Blue Moon was really good too... gah! it's so hard to pick just one. i dunno..i want them all! =] 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I'd see it. I think Juilia Dreyfuss could be Anita? or get an unknown. It's gotta be fun though like Buffy the Vampire slayer was (it was cool to be a slayer). If you have it too real and stuff who'd want to really put their life in danger. I hope they don't make it to real if they did one, i wanna see hot guys!!!!! yessss

I think a series would be better than a movie. I agree something like Buffy, so its not too serious. I think they would need 3 or 4 episodes a book though or they would miss too much out the books. The sex thing wouldnt have to be so graphic and that would make it easier to rate and film etc. The actors who ever is chosen will annoy some people as everyone has different ideas as who should play who. But think the Comics got it right so cant see why they couldnt find people to play the parts. I think unknown actors would be best as they wont be compared to other movies they have done etc. The first 6 books were amazing and would be brilliant to actually watch.

Yeah. I would have to agree on that. A movie would be too complicated. I doubt they'd capture what needs to be there. And another thing... unknown actors would be great too... when i think of series i think of Dark Angel, Buffy and Riddick... <~~~ I dont think Riddick was a series to start with... i just seen the first movies... perhaps if it was something like that, just series-like.. and like i said before... perhaps even an anime would even be better... they have a lot of R rated extra stuff on that... look what they did to Salor Moon ( big orgy nasties *smile*) anyhow... thats the only way i could think of that wouldnt cut anything out, and could be as long as they want... Luis Royo could do the people! lol sorry, had to throw him in there somewhere. lol.

I would love for there to be an Anita Blake movie. I know I'd be one of the first people to buy it. Although I know the movie will not be even close to being as good as the books. They have to find the perfect cast. Not everyone will agree on who would be best. If there is a movie, I hope it's awsome, but I would not get your hopes up. The movies hardly ever are better than the books.

Guilty Pleasures would just be the starting point for Anita Blake and the rest. Just like the books are. We didn't know all the other characters when Guilty Pleasures came out. Why should we jump to the later books and let others meet everyone first. Plus if we did that then it would confuse people who watch the movie yet have not read the books. I do think this would be a great thing to do if we could get everything, from the characters to the scenery, down to a tee. I would love to see it happen, but am very worried what would happen to the Juicy parts of the later books such as Blood Noir. Those that have read it would have to admit that the book would practically be a XXX movie. 6 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |
